Weekend round-up as Chatham Town secure 3-2 Isthmian Premier victory against Welling United; Whitstable Town, Ashford United, Punjab United, Sittingbourne and Sheppey United win in Isthmian South East

All the goals came in the second half as Chatham beat Welling United to deny the Wings the chance to return to the Isthmian Premier summit on Saturday. Substitute Brad Stevenson broke the deadlock on the hour and, four minutes later, Kola Salami doubled the lead for Chats. Demaray Anyadike pulled one back for Ryan Maxwell’s men, only for Jack Lyons to restore the two-goal Chatham cushion. Zak O’Keefe netted a second for Welling but they left Medway empty-handed as it ended 3-2 at the Bauvill Stadium. Substitute Dean Grant got the game’s only goal against Peacehaven & Telscombe to extend third-placed Whitstable’s winning Isthmian South East run to seven matches. Ashford United moved into the Isthmian South East play-off positions through a 2-0 home victory against Steyning Town. Eight minutes after the restart, Sam Hasler gave Craig Stone’s side the lead and Oli Bates added a second in the 62nd minute.
